Abukamau (Abu) Ali-Ibrahim is Founder and Principal at Intrepid Partners Consulting, LLC, an organization and human systems consulting practice dedicated to helping clients achieve their vision of success. Abu is an accomplished professional who helps individuals and organizations improve performance and achieve measurable results and objectives. A skilled human resources management and organization development professional, he works with clients to diagnose and analyze complex, sensitive and contentious issues impacting individual and team performance, and take steps to enhance organizational effectiveness. As an organization consultant, he focuses on organization development and change, leadership coaching and team effectiveness. Abu has a straightforward manner and pragmatic approach to partnering with clients. With their input and participation, he meticulously examines the current performance of client organizations and systems relative to their vision, strategy, goals and objectives.
Abu has worked extensively in corporate settings including high tech, telecommunications, oil and gas, urban mass transportation and apparel manufacturing. His corporate experience has included responsibility for human resources management, organization development, leadership development, labor relations and culture change initiatives. With previous experience as a member of the Teamsters and the UAW, Abu is equally comfortable working in non-union as well as union environments where he has enjoyed respectful and constructive relationships with the leadership of the TWU, IAM, IBEW, and UNITE in labor-management relations. His commitment to the principles of organizational, social and economic justice and equity, as well as the humanistic values of organization development, reinforces his credibility with members of management teams, union officials and employees of diverse backgrounds.
Abu has an M.S. in Organization Development from American University, an M.S. in Industrial Relations from the University of Wisconsin—Madison and a B.A. in Social Science from Michigan State University. He holds certificates from the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching Certification Program, the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland’s International Organization and Systems Development Program (IOSD) and the Principles and Practices of Organization Development Program at Teachers College—Columbia University. He is also an alumnus of the Stanford University Interpersonal Dynamics Facilitation Training Program.
